PAST SPONSORS
In the Spring of 2016 and at the age of 9, Justin was given special permission to race adult karts at MB2. He subsequently entered a number of Sunday Night GP events there, scoring his first podium finish in his third try and multiple podium spots thereafter, going on to finally become the youngest winner of a Grand Prix race at the venue and taking home the $150 top prize. Some of the top adult drivers at the location took a strong interest in him, and they went on to forge lasting friendships. Within just a few short months, he worked his way up the scoreboard to become one of the top competitors at the facility, consistently ranked inside the top 40 out of the nearly 400,000 people who have raced there, reaching as high as #17.
HISTORY
Justin's foray into motorsports began on May 18th, 2014 at the young age of seven. Motivated by the Daytona 500 broadcast only three months prior, he drove his first laps in the seat of an electric indoor kart at MB2 in Sylmar, CA. Inspired by the oval track racing he saw in NASCAR, his next step was a test with a quarter midget in San Bernardino, CA. He quickly developed a preference for sprint style road circuit racing, as this type of driving came quite natural to him and suited his style better. Before long, he was quickly winning a large percentage of his races at numerous indoor facilities including K1, MB2, Miramar Speed Circuit, Racer's Edge, and Fast Lap, among others. The next logical step was to compete in a full season format, and in early 2016, he began the K1 Speed Torrance Junior League competition. In this 10-race format season, he won seven of the events, grabbed the pole six times, and finished out on top by winning the first place championship.
2014
2016
In September of 2016, Justin acquired his first outdoor gas kart, a full-sized CRG KT1 chassis powered by the Briggs & Stratton LO-206 four-stroke engine. Justin took his driving to the next level at CalSpeed at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA, where he scored back-to-back 2nd place podium finishes in both of his first official races with them.
2017
For the 2017 season, he picked up his first sponsors with Galpin Motors, Pit Posse, and Arrowhead/Nestle Waters, representing them at events with Tri-C Karters, Willow Springs Kart Association, Adams Saturday Night Racing Series, and the F100/F206 league. In total, he would bring home eight 1st place wins, one 2nd place and three 3rd place podiums, 12 top-five finishes, and score a 1st place championship with WSKA and a 3rd place championship with Tri-C to round out the year.
2018
For 2018, America’s Tire came onboard as a sponsor, while Molecule Sports started a partnership with him along with returning sponsors Galpin Motors and Pit Posse. Racing across three series for the season, Justin would bring home two 1st place wins, two 2nd place and three 3rd place podiums (one of which was his first rain race), and a total of 10 top-five finishes.
2019
In 2019, all four of his sponsors returned to partner with him once again, with America's Tire as his primary, and he also added Acceleration Kart Racing and Northridge Braces to his sponsorship lineup. Racing for his final year in the Junior 2 class where he would race exclusively with Tri-C Karters at CalSpeed at the Auto Club Speedway, Justin would go on to bring home one 3rd place podium and four top-five finishes to close out the season. Shortly after the close of the year, COVID would strike, forcing Justin to take a long break from racing for the 2020 and 2021 seasons.
2022
With the world finally getting back to some semblance of normalcy, Justin returned to the track in 2022 for his first year competing in the Senior class, with America’s Tire and Galpin Motors by his side along with his new partner K1 RaceGear. As a team, Justin worked alongside Josh Huff of JHMotorsports and Terry Nash of Hyper Racing Engines, and his performance was very impressive, scoring one 1st place podium, one 2nd place podium, and two 3rd place podiums along with the fastest lap of the race award in two races and one pole position in a larger field than he had ever competed against up to that point.
2023
In 2023, with CalSpeed at the Auto Club Speedway closing, the main season relocated to Apex Racing Center in Perris, CA. Working exclusively under the guidance of race engineer Eric Nelson and engine builder Terry Nash and with sponsor Galpin Motors returning once again, this would be the final year driving the CRG KT1 chassis. The main season started strong with a razor close second place podium, and the season would finish up with a hard fought 3rd place season championship competing against 44 other drivers in the Briggs LO-206 Sr. engine class with Tri-C Karters.
2024
With the retirement of the original CRG KT1 kart, this year brought two new OTK chassis, a Kosmic Mercury R and a TonyKart EVK, along with the decision to run double duty in two engine classes (Briggs LO-206 Sr. and Tillotson 225 Sr.) for the Chill Challenge Winter Series and the main season, taking place at Adams Motorsports Park in Riverside, CA. Working once again with race engineer Eric Nelson and engine builder Terry Nash, Justin has scored first and second place podiums in all three rounds of the Chill Challenge (along with a first place championship in LO-206), is scoring multiple pole position awards, and is winning first and second place podiums in both classes for all rounds in his main series to date. With new sponsorship from Seventh-Gear Motorsport and Eli's Mobil Service, the team is confident that this year will not only bring many more wins and podiums, but will yield a pair of first place championships for both classes that Justin and the team have worked towards so diligently.
